Yes we DiD! Now it's a Concerted Effort!

To make a change our nation needs focus, pure unadulterated purpose, In order to fulfill our destinies everything about us has to change from the top to the bottom. Change in itself is a scary process,we usually are in a comfort zone as most human beings rely on comfortable things and familiar ideas to keep them appeased. But these years previous and even now have been harrowing to us in the sense that economics,fair-play or any thing similar to autonomy was way down on the totem pole! What we needed was change that potent word that for us a people on the brink of oblivion in a world that money, politics, ethics and a straight-forward government means everything. We have arrived at a point whereas the Constitutions first statutes are now put into place, this Government long termed as for the people by the people can now begin to serve us,instead of being a self-serving one! "Hurray for Change" 'Yes We Did It' Time To Make A Change!

Did You Know That Black Buying Power Is Awesome?

Do You Know Black Buying Power is Awesome??
Current mood: discontent

But we don't seek the knowledge that would put us in control of our destinies for because of lack of faith ,motivation, being afraid of change ,ignorance and the number one of all, peer pressure. It is ironic sometimes still we will listen to someone in our circle of friends who don't have a clue about a dream and will discourage you if you say something or reveal a vision that you may have.I seriously believe that everyone is not deemed appropriate to speak out on your life and a lot of times certain matters should be kept private a long with pertinent info we sometimes want to divulge just to get a comment or a response from someone other than self. There are people out there just like Haters that there sole purpose on earth is to tell you what you can't do.I say that is preposturous when we a race can do whatever and obtain whatever we choose, all it takes is iniative and a plan, sure Money and Capital play a huge part, but sometimes just being committed to your dreams will get the ball rolling..I recently read stats on businesses over in China,This article reveal that the monopoly is exclusive as far as Hair Products which rests solely in Chinese hands,to narrow it down lets say the hair trade, weave and most things that Black Americans buy ,use and wear, also the Businesses that use these products which is multi-million industry, hair weaves ,corn rowing, things that Black people buy with a vengeance is not owned by one Black person !! You heard me, not one Black person is the head of a hair product industry,Oh we may be buyers and or owners of the businesses that utilize and capitalize on the manifested products but we don't own the actual bulk amounts,Yeah the Chinese are a shrewd bunch, capitalizing off of our vanity and our monies. Now who do you suppose shares in all that multi-millions that come out of our communities every hour, every minute and each and every day.Black women buy weave ,Black women love the corn rows, but the Chinese own every damn aspect of it,they will throw a contract here and there simply because they need us to draw us out to buy and sell to us,that is the closest we can get in to reap the benefits. That is mind boggling to me because if we boycotted these products who the heck could Chinese sell hair to? And I must reinterate the fact that we as a people still don't patronize Black Businesses,we have been brainwashed to believe that what we sell is inferior to those things sold by other nationalities, that has to be the biggest misconception out there,a lot of times it is just the packaging that may be different.I can attest that there are jeans out here that don't have to cost $300.00 just to look good, that's usually peer pressure, keeping up with the jones and they are White,So you do the Math!!!!

The Truth According to the Poetrydiva!

Others Always See Us Better
Current mood: accomplished
Category: Life

I was blown away the other day when I read your post,i had just come back from driving my grandson to Va. where he lives so he'd be on time for his football practice. I am rather proud of the interactions his mother and my son have in raising him even though they are not involved w/ each other anymore. Why I share this info is because it takes a village to raise a child and not an easy task at all. I hate to say it but I agree wholeheartedly w/ you on the points you made, mainly because if I were doing a survey of a lot of females of color the point America and society sees is that they bear children and leave the mess for either the morgue, criminal justice system or any other institution to take care of the problem they have given birth to..Yes! I am one of those females who have posted blogs about why aren't there enough Black Men for professional women? and questions that are posed knowing full well what the answers belie. The finger points back to the Black woman and our parts in this equation. What I have discovered through Life and also examining many, many instances of interactions between our people is the rampant dysfunction I've met at every aspect of a desired partnership and it returns back to us and the question is "What are we raising in our homes? We are raising needy, irresponsible little boys with little or no ambitions and many don't have a clue as to what engenders a healthy relationship or otherwise w/ a female. A lot of times these child-men are in awe or resent the female that they supposedly share a relationship with and have not been given the tools to cope w/ certain predicaments that come inside their circles of Life. People that have forged ahead to continue their education for whatever reason have to be applauded simply because at one time we weren't allowed to study, obtain schooling because we would have been put to death simple as that. Also we live in a society that is competitive-based and only those with a sound foundation such as knowledge and technical no-how can actually forge ahead so where does that leave someone who has no abilities to thinking outside of a box or decision making qualities along w/peer problems, financial difficulties and don't forget identity hang ups? Not a good position to be in at this turn of the century. Then too we have a lot of brothers who have had the wherewithal to understand the problems that came with our backgrounds and have struggled to overcome the stigma and turmoil of not being equipped with tools to cope w/ Life. Life as we understand it can't always be mastered with just brute strength or just your wits or even charm your way through a certain situation When it comes to your understanding of what it is a man stands for and what is expected of you when it comes to starting a family,ie sacrifices have to be made, decisions have to be adhered too. It takes work nohow and a lot of patience to make relationship work any relationship. No they all won't be perfect but if we have an even hand to begin our journey maybe, just maybe our lives make take a turn for life instead of death. We have to unlearn to learn ourselves back through a maze of misconceptions handed down and or misconstrued with our journey and our walk through this world Some people don't have a true definition of what their part is in a relationship, that men who are the protectors of home and hearth and hold part of the responsibilities for the babes that they and significant others bring into this world, is that something so foreign for us to grasp upon? In this world we bring forth the future leaders and movers and shakers ? Yes we as women are an integral part of this problem because again I pose the question "What are we bringing up in our homes? Without the hope and love of our ancestors we won't make it! The saddest part of our saga is that we have had somewhat of a monopoly on HOPE. Yes" Hope bought us through those trying times of slavery, civil rights movements, and continued discriminatory system that wants anything not understood dead and that surely includes our race. We are at the forefront where as a Black man has finally reached a position so paramount in History that we can hardly believed it was reached in our Life times. What will we as a people do to support this dream that for so long has been wished and longed for? What will we do to honor those who fought bravely and gave their lives so this moment could become a reality? Will we instead continue to be trifling and think that there is nothing wrong with our state of existence. Will we continue to ignore the warning bells going off all around us, the death of our young children, our economy, an unjust system, joblessness, our refusal to take responsibility for ourselves and the inability to take a stand against what's really going on.. My people we have been lulled to SLEEP! Can we take a hold of our destinies and believe that things can indeed get better if we put in the work! and pray and keep our heads to the sky and not on "Those who we think Got it but in the pursuit of us getting our Lost Humanity Back.. and Finally a plea for us to stop the Killing of our people for nothing! Yes! I said absolutely nothing..because what ever the situation that brings one to the taking of another man or woman's life is not the the thing that needs to be removed but a part of our being that needs to come back in effect and that is OUR HUMANITY!! God blesses us every day! ( Martin Luther King ) said I have been to the mountaintop,I may not be able to go there with you but..People, he and others like him have bought us this Far!!!!!

The Freedom Of Joy!

People have been overjoyed this week after Obama's win! Why not? This man who was destined to win this election should be viewed as any other person who wins what they set out to do. Convince a nation, I doubt that seriously,we didn't need much convincing. America the Beautiful for all intents and purposes was on it's way to destruction through our ill-managed economy, leadership, special interest groups with no interest, just the whole gamut of presidential games. Nobody wanted to approach the stink,we smelled it,they smelled it, the politicians and all the King's Men smelled it, but no one wanted to tackle it. Jobs in the millions have been lost, these are families, children and peoples way of living we're talking about here,so our society decides that our candidate was not good enough to lead this country? By who's decision was this idea even presented? By the idiots that ran this farce,so the people who knew this man could pull off this change in thinking developed a plan called 'Yes we can' and guess what? Every one in this country showed up for this change, can you imagine a people who have been drug through the mud so long and have had to look down so long that now!,perhaps there was a chance sincerely for change? The mandated election of Obama our President-Elect is by no stretch of the imagination a mistake but a revelation to be looked upon as what it really is a means of salvation for the disenfranchised, forgotten, and more than not left out people of a nation where every one can't afford to write a check for a million dollars or trade stocks in the 10's of million dollars, people who at the end of the day just want to rest and see the faces of their loved ones and prepare for their futures and to simply live in the manner afforded to them at this time! Something I have always heard, you have to go through some things to get to the other side, well now it's our time to shine and attempt the change that we have truly arrived at!! And remember that it's alright to laugh and smile because you and I deserve it.. Peace and a jar of hair grease:)
